Khaitan & Co advised Godrej Finance Limited (GFL) on its acquisition of the gold loan business of Kanakadurga Finance Limited.This transaction marks Godrej's foray into the gold loan business, aimed at strengthening its presence in the consumer finance segment. The acquisition gives Godrej Capital immediate access to an established gold loan business with approximately Rs 280 crore in assets under management (AUM), a customer base of nearly 12,000, 54 branches across Andhra Pradesh, and a team of around 250 employees.
