Kochhar & Co. Advises Agrawal Infrabuild On ₹1,200 Crore Ludhiana Toll Road Insolvency Resolution

Kochhar & Co. has advised Agrawal Infrabuild Private Limited, the successful resolution applicant, in connection with the submission of a resolution plan worth approximately ₹1,200 crore for Ludhiana Talwandi Toll Roads Private Limited, formerly known as Essel Ludhiana Talwandi Toll Roads Private Limited.
The firm advised on the overall resolution strategy for the corporate debtor under the Insolvency and Bankruptcy Code, 2016, including the review of the information memorandum issued under Section 29 of the IBC, the request for resolution plan and the evaluation matrix. It also advised on the process for submission, evaluation and negotiation of resolution plans.
Kochhar & Co. drafted the resolution plan, which covered debt restructuring, fund infusion, treatment of creditor classes and issues arising from the National Highways Authority of India concession and related arbitration proceedings.
The arbitration and litigation aspects of the transaction were handled by Senior Partner Krishna Vijay Singh and Partner Manish Dembla.
The corporate and other aspects of the transaction were handled by a team led by Ketan Mukhija, Partner and National Co-Head of the Private Equity and Venture Capital Practice. The team also included Senior Associate Deepanshi Trivedi and Associates Vrinda Taneja and Anshu Gupta.
