Maharashtra National Law University, Mumbai is organising the First Edition of the International Labour Law Conference on 6 April 2026 in hybrid mode (offline at the MNLU Mumbai campus and online) on the theme: “New Labour Codes in India: Contemporary Issues, Implementation Challenges and Global Perspectives.”

    About the Conference:

The Indian labour law framework has undergone a significant transformation with the introduction of the new Labour Codes enacted in 2019 and 2020, which aim to consolidate and rationalise multiple existing labour legislations governing wages, industrial relations, social security, and occupational safety and working conditions.

With the evolving nature of employment, including the rise of the gig economy, technological developments, and changing labour markets, the implementation of these reforms has raised important questions regarding workers' rights, industrial relations, social protection, and regulatory governance.

The conference seeks to provide an academic platform for scholars, researchers, policymakers, legal professionals, industry representatives, and students to engage in meaningful dialogue on contemporary labour law reforms and their implications in India and globally.

The event will feature an Inaugural Session, Panel Discussions with experts, and Research Paper Presentation sessions, encouraging scholarly engagement and policy-oriented discussions on labour law reforms.
