    The School of Indian Legal Thought, Mahatma Gandhi University, Kottayam (established in 1989), invites contributions for the 20th Volume (2026) of its flagship publication, the Journal of Indian Legal Thought (JILT).

    ​Published since 2003, JILT is a double-blind peer-reviewed journal (ISSN: 2249-9989) included in the UGC CARE List. The journal seeks to promote systematic legal research and study through innovative, interdisciplinary approaches.

    Categories of Submissions

    • Articles: 7,000–12,000 words
    • Case Notes & Legislative Comments: 1,500–3,000 words
    • Book Reviews: 1,500–3,000 words

    (All word limits are inclusive of footnotes.)

    Key Guidelines

    • Formatting: Submissions must be in MS Word format, Times New Roman, font size 12, with 1.5 line spacing.
    • Citation Style: Bluebook (21st edition).
    • Plagiarism Policy: Manuscripts must be original and accompanied by a plagiarism report (similarity up to 10% permitted).
    • Co-authorship: Permitted up to a maximum of 2 authors.
