    About the Centre

    The Centre for Women, Child Rights and Gender Justice is an initiative of Maharashtra National Law University, Mumbai. The centre was established with the aim of strengthening existing knowledge and contributing to the discourse surrounding the rights of women, children and the LGBTQIA+ community from both Indian and global perspectives. The feminist discourse in India is not new; it has evolved over decades. The irony, however, lies in the fact that despite having addressed these issues since time immemorial, women and the LGBTQIA+ community continue to be challenged by heteropatriarchy even today. The Centre is established with a vision to Strengthen existing knowledge and contribute to the discourse for advocating for the rights of women, children and the LGBTQIA+ community in the Indian and Global Perspective. Often, in the feminist movement, the interests of the LGBTQIA+ community gets sidelined and the Centre aims to be as inclusive as possible in its approach by highlighting the needs of this community. Children are the hope for the future and are also the most vulnerable section of society. The Centre endeavors to build awareness among the youth regarding their rights. The Centre will collaborate with National and International organizations to redress the concern and grievances of women and develop collaborative programs and projects for the cause of women law, gender justice and child rights.

    The blog is a blind-peer reviewed blog and welcomes submissions of original, well-analyzed articles addressing recent issues and developments in the field of women's rights, child rights, and gender justice in India and worldwide. We welcome contributions from students, academicians, and professionals who wish to share their insights and expertise. By hosting articles and opinions on our blog, we aspire to facilitate a diverse and inclusive space where thought-provoking discussions can take place. To ensure consistency, we kindly request that all submitted articles adhere to the provided submission guidelines.

    About the Editorial Board: The Editorial decisions are exclusively based on the merits of the article submitted. The Editor and the Editorial Board retain complete control over all decisions.

    · It reserves the authority to accept or reject a blog post for the website based on its subject matter.

    · It also has the right to edit and modify the blog post, with the prior approval and consent of the author(s).

    Submission guidelines

    1. Mode of submissions: We accept submissions through google forms. It can be accessed here. https://forms.gle/ZdagmHkaPD5MSqMx6

    2. Nature of Submissions: The submission can offer insightful analysis, critical perspectives, and informed opinions on recent developments and issues concerning women's rights, child rights, and gender justice in India and across the globe.

    3. Co-authorship: The submissions can be co-authored by a maximum of two authors.

    4. Deadline: The Blog accepts submissions on a rolling basis.

    5. Plagiarism: 15%

    6. Word-Limit: The submissions should be within the limit of 1200-1500, however this limit could be extended depending on the quality of the article.

    7. Format: Submissions should be in Microsoft Word (.doc/.docx) format.

    8. Citation: Any judgements, statutes, treaties, or other legal documents cited in the blog post must provide hyperlinks to relevant legal sources and background information. Only legitimate or verified news sources may be linked to. The ultimate judgment on what constitutes a verified source will be made by the Editorial Board. For offline resources, endnotes can be used. These could be made in any uniform citation style - Bluebook citation style (20th)

    9. Anonymity: The author is strictly prohibited from disclosing any information that identifies them including their name, institution’s name, etc.

    10. Cross-publication: is allowed with the prior approval of the Editorial team.
