About the Previous Editions
2025: The 4th Annual Mediation Competition, 2025, organised by the Alternative Dispute Resolution Committee of NMIMS School of Law, Navi Mumbai, was conducted in a hybrid format with virtual rounds on 16th March 2025 and offline semi-finals and finals on 4th April 2025 at the Navi Mumbai campus. Held in collaboration with Knowledge Partner WeVaad, the competition simulated real-world mediation scenarios and assessed participants on communication, ethics, neutrality, negotiation, and problem-solving skills. Supported by an esteemed drafting team and media partners IDRC and Lawctopus, the 2025 edition emerged as a significant national platform for promoting mediation practice among law students.
2023: The vision of NMIMS, School of Law for promoting Alternative Dispute Resolution (ADR) can be best achieved by organizing and hosting student teams from universities across the nation at our flagship event- Usha: National Arbitration Moot, 2023. The Arbitration Moot is a simulation of a dispute arising out of a contract between two parties, which provides for settlement through arbitration in India.
2021: Rachna: National Negotiation-Mediation Competition, which was held in 2021, with L&L Partners as our patrons, supported by Samvad Partners, Live Law, SCC Online and EBC. ADR committee hosted its first ever National Negotiation-Mediation Competition that enabled students to exercise their advocacy skills within the ADR process. The competition aimed to provide a forum for students to utilize and shape their skills which are important for the alternative dispute resolution methodology. The competition also provided an excellent opportunity to put theory into effect by having participants to represent all parties involved in the process of Negotiation as well as Mediation, including the client and counsel in case of Negotiation, and client, counsel and mediator for Mediation.
