Xavier Law School To Host 4th Xavier Mediation Competition 2026

Fox & Mandal and Khaitan & Co. have been announced as the Title Partners, along with R.L. Dutt & Co., Guha & Co., and VV Law Chambers (VVLC) as Associate Title Partners.

Since its inception, XSLAJ has worked towards promoting excellence in legal education, advocacy, and alternative dispute resolution. The Society has organised eight intra-university competitions and five national-level competitions in collaboration with several law firms.

Building upon this legacy, XMC'26 seeks to highlight the growing significance of mediation as an efficient and collaborative mechanism for dispute resolution. The competition is convened by Dr. Siddhant Chandra as Convenor, with Dr. Subhajit Chakraborty serving as Co-Convenor. The Student Convenor for XMC'26 is Debdeep Giri, assisted by Emun Aman as Joint Student Convenor.

The competition aims to equip participants with practical skills in negotiation, communication, and problem-solving, while providing exposure to the evolving landscape of dispute resolution.

Over the years, the competition has witnessed growth in its prize pool, increasing from ₹75,000 in XMC'23 to ₹1.1 lakh in XMC'24 and ₹2.1 lakh in XMC'25. The prize pool for XMC'26 stands at ₹3,00,000, along with trophies of honour, medals, and certificates for participants.

Winners will also receive paid internship opportunities, including opportunities at Fox & Mandal, Khaitan & Co., R.L. Dutt & Co., Guha & Co., VV Law Chambers (VVLC), SettleWiseNow, The Amikus Qriae, Dexon Global, LawFoyer, and other legal professionals, along with additional academic and professional benefits.

📅 Event Dates: 26^th, 27^th & 28^th March 2026

Students pursuing three-year or five-year LL.B. programmes from any law school, college, university, or institution recognised by the Bar Council of India are eligible to participate. LL.M. students are also eligible. Participants from any year or semester may form teams. Cross-semester, Cross-Institution as well as Independent Teams are also permitted.
