    Hidayatullah National Law University (HNLU), Raipur, under the aegis of its DPIIT–IPR Chair, concluded its ten-day National Faculty Development Programme (FDP) on “Emerging IP Jurisprudence and Evolving Trends of IP Teaching & Research” with a valedictory session.

    The valedictory lecture was delivered by Justice V. Ramasubramanian, Chairperson of the National Human Rights Commission. He highlighted the evolving interface between intellectual property law, human rights, and public interest, stressing the judiciary's role in fostering innovation while ensuring access and affordability. He also underlined the importance of academia in shaping future-ready IP jurisprudence.

    The session commenced with opening remarks by Vice Chancellor Prof. V. C. Vivekanandan, who welcomed the Chief Guest and reflected on his literary contributions, including popularising science through Tamil newspaper articles. He observed that the judiciary and legal system act as key enablers of innovation and noted the rapid scaling of IP adjudication in India, with specialised IP courts likely to emerge soon.

    The FDP, held over ten days, saw participation from over 70 faculty members, researchers, and professionals from across the country. The programme featured 20 distinguished resource persons, including academicians, practitioners, and policy experts, who deliberated on IP jurisprudence, contemporary teaching methodologies, and emerging research trends.

    Sessions explored intersections of intellectual property with technology, artificial intelligence, digital innovation, and global regulatory frameworks.

    Notable contributors included Mr. Antony Taubman (Director, IP Division, World Trade Organization), Prof. Sakthivel, Mr. Rodney Ryder, Dr. Gargi Chakrabart, Dr. Raghavender, Dr. Anindya Sircar, Mr. Madhusudhan, Dr. Krista Rantasaari, Dr. V. K. Unni, Mr. Ajai Garg, Mr. Zeeshan Khan, Dr. Padmavati, and Dr. Bhavin Kothari, among others.

    The programme concluded with a vote of thanks by Dr. Ankit Singh, Programme Director and IP Chair In-Charge, who expressed gratitude to the Chief Guest, Vice Chancellor, resource persons, and participants for contributing to the success of the FDP.
