    NLIU Legal Aid Clinic has announced the 5th NLIU-LKS Paralegal Workshop & Training Programme, 2026, scheduled to be held on February 28 and March 1, 2026 at the National Law Institute University, Bhopal, in collaboration with Lakshmikumaran & Sridharan Attorneys.

    About the Programme

    This flagship event is designed to strengthen practical legal skills through expert-led sessions and competitive academic simulations focused on legal aid and client-facing practice. The programme provides a unique platform for law students and Legal Aid Clinics across India to engage with contemporary legal challenges, develop professional competencies, and network with legal practitioners and academicians.

    Structure of the Competition

    The workshop features two major competitive events:

    1. Paralegal Training Competition

    A simulation-based client counselling exercise comprising two phases:

    Phase I: Written submission based on a provided factual matrix, followed by a rigorous review process. The top 16 teams will be shortlisted for the oral rounds.

    Phase II: Oral rounds integrated with expert-led training, including preliminary rounds, semifinals, and finals evaluated by distinguished legal practitioners.

    2. Legal Aid Clinic Presentation Competition

    A platform for Legal Aid Clinics to showcase best practices, innovative methodologies, and impactful interventions undertaken during the academic year. Presentations will be evaluated by experts based on innovation, impact, clarity, and practical relevance.

    Paralegal Training Competition

    Early Bird Registration: ₹800 per team (till February 8, 2026)

    Regular Registration: ₹1,000 per team (till February 12, 2026)

    Additional Fee (Shortlisted Teams Only): ₹2,500 per team

    Legal Aid Clinic Presentation Competition

    Early Bird Registration: ₹2,500 per team (till February 8, 2026)

    Regular Registration: ₹3,200 per team (till February 12, 2026)

    Note: Each institution may nominate a maximum of three (3) teams for the Paralegal Training Competition.

    Awards and Opportunities

    Winners and runners-up will be awarded cash prizes exceeding ₹40,000, alongside internship opportunities at Lakshmikumaran & Sridharan, one of India's foremost full-service law firms renowned for its expertise in corporate and commercial law & Migration and Asylum Project, ndia's first and only dedicated legal resource centre for forced migrants and refugees.
