The Madhya Pradesh High Court has dismissed a revision petition filed by Congress leader KK Mishra challenging the charges framed against him in a defamation case.

The defamation case is pending against him in the lower court at Bhopal.

The complaint pertained to the Congress leader’s accusations against Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan and his family members of allegedly involved in the appointment of some candidates on the post of transport inspectors.

The appointment of transport inspectors is under scanner in the Vyapam scam being probed by the CBI.

A bench of Chief Justice Hemant Gupta and Justice Vijay Kumar Shukla said: “Reading of the statement prima facie does not suggest that the allegations were in respect of lack of proper investigation into the examination conducted by Vyapam, but against the Chief Minister, which were said to be defamatory.”

“Therefore we are unable to agree with the argument raised by the learned counsel for the petitioner that the allegations were not leveled against the Chief Minister, but against the lack of proper conduct of the investigation,” the court said.
