A comprehensive three-day training workshop for the Presidents of District Consumer Disputes Redressal Commission of Bihar concluded successfully at VijayaTej Clarks Inn, Patna. The workshop, held from November 24th to 26th, 2023, aimed at enhancing the capabilities and expertise of key stakeholders in consumer dispute resolution.Inaugural Ceremony Highlights (Day 1 - Friday, 24th November, 2023):The inaugural ceremony, conducted on Friday, featured key addresses from prominent figures in the legal fraternity. Prof. (Dr.) S. P. Singh, Registrar, Chanakya National Law University, extended a warm welcome, setting the tone for the event. Prof. (Dr.) S. S. Singh, Former Vice-Chancellor of NLIU, Bhopal, shared valuable insights as the Guest of Honour. Justice Sanjay Kumar, President of the State Consumer Disputes Redressal Commission, Bihar, Patna, delivered a keynote address, emphasizing the significance of the workshop. Ms. Nandita S Jha, Assistant Professor of Law, expressed gratitude in the Vote of Thanks.Technical Session Highlights (Day 2 – 25th November 2023):The second day saw technical sessions focusing on crucial aspects of consumer dispute resolution. Led by AVM J. Rajendra, AVSM VSM (Retd.), Member of the National Consumer Dispute Resolution Commission, the sessions delved into complex consumer cases, principles of natural justice, jurisdiction, functioning of Consumer Dispute Redressal Commission, and the role of mediation. Mr. M.P. Srivastava, District Judge (Retd) from Bihar Judiciary, and Mr. Ajitesh P., Coordinator for Government at Sama, Mediation Coach, shared their insights, enriching the participants' understanding.Valedictory Ceremony Highlights (Day 3 - Sunday, 26th November, 2023):The concluding day witnessed the valedictory ceremony with Prof. (Dr.) S. P. Singh initiating it. Distinguished guests, including Mr. Rohit Kumar Singh, IAS, Secretary, Department of Consumer Affairs, Ministry of Consumer Affairs, Food & Public Distribution, and Justice Amreshwar Pratap Sahi, Former Chief Justice of Patna and Madras High Courts, and President of the National Consumer Dispute Resolution Commission, New Delhi, were acknowledged.
