Kerala High Court Advocates Association President, Advocate Saiby Jose Kidangoor, who is facing an FIR over allegations of collecting money in the name of bribing judges,  has submitted his resignation letter to be relieved from the post of President of the Association.

The Executive Committee of the KHCAA unanimously decided to accept his resignation letter, after careful consideration of the same.

In the letter submitted to the Secretary of the KHCAA today, he said that ever since the day he had declared his candidature for the post of KHCAA President, he had been "viciously targeted by some lawyers", who also happened to be members of the Association.

"The lawyers who have have raised these false, frivolous, and vexatious allegations having serious overtones and ramifications, have a deep-rooted enmity against me that stems from personal vendetta and professional envy", the letter avers.

Advocate Saiby has also expressed his strong belief that the truth would come out and the hollowness of the allegations levelled against him, as well as the conspiracy behind the episode would also be exposed.

"...My conscience and propriety demands that it would only be fair and appropriate to demit the office of President of this August body. On the personal front, I firmly believe that my resignation would certainly help to spare the members of the Bar from being vexed and confronted with any unpleasant situation arising out of the whole scandal. Therefore, in the fitness of things, I am prompted to take this decision to relieve from all the responsibilities of the President of the Kerala High Court Advocates Association", the letter states.

The High Court had on Monday, refused to stay the FIR registered against him noting that the allegations raised against him were serious. It also questioned why he had moved the Court in a hurry, within two days of registering the FIR.

"The allegations on the face of it are very serious. It is something that is maligning the entire justice delivery system", it had orally observed. The Court had also added, "You are an officer of this Court and an office bearer of a responsible institution, it is also your responsibility to prove your innocence and remove the shadow that has been cast on the entire justice delivery system".
