'Mafia Don In Making, His Role Figured In Umesh Pal Murder Case': Allahabad HC Denies Bail To Atique Ahmad's Son In Attempt To Murder Case

While denying bail to Ali Ahmad, son of 'Bahubali', 'Mafia Don' and former MP & MLA, Atique Ahmad in an attempt to murder case, the Allahabad High Court on Monday said that Ali is himself a Mafia Don in making, whose role has also figured in the Umesh Pal Murder case.Umesh Pal, who was the star witness in the murder case of Raju Pal, a sitting Member of the Legislative Assembly, was shot dead on 24 February by the assailants outside his residence in Uttar Pradesh's PrayagrajReferring to Ali Ahmad, the bench of Justice Dinesh Kumar Singh observed that such a criminal if comes out from jail on bail would be a threat not only to the witnesses but also a constant threat to society.Essentially, Ahmad had moved the High Court seeking bail in connection with a 2021 case wherein he has been accused of threatening to kill the complainant and his family, demanding extortion of Rs. 5 crores, assaulting the complainant and his family members by the butt of rifle, pistol and country-made pistol.The complainant and other family members had suffered several injuries due to the said incident. It is also alleged that when the complainant was running away to save himself, the accused-applicant and one Asaad had fired from pistols. However, the complainant could save himself.Though Ahmad was not represented before the Court by his counsel on Monday, the Court decided the plea with the assistance of state counsel. In its order, denying bail to him, the Court also noted that he is the son of one of the most dreaded criminals, Bahubali and Mafia Don, Atique Ahmad, who has to his credit more than a hundred criminal cases of murder, abduction, extortion, ransom, property grabbing and other heinous offences and he has himself, to his credit, cases registered against him.Further, observing that Mafia Don and his family have accumulated the wealth and properties of several hundred crores in this fashion from proceeds of crime, the Court went ahead to deny him bail.Case title - Ali @ Ali Ahmad @ Mohd Ali Ahmad vs. State of U.P.
