    Amulya Leona, who has been under custody since February 20 on an alleged sedition case, has withdrawn her bail application filed in Karnataka High Court

    A bench of Justice K Natarajan dismissed her application as withdrawn with liberty to approach the HC after exhausting the remedy before the Sessions Court.

    The 19-year old was was arrested on February 20 for offences under section 124-A, 153 (A), 153-B, 505 (2) of Indian Penal Code. A 

    It is alleged that Amulya was shouted pro-Pakistan slogans at a program organised to protest against CAA, NRC and NPR where Member of Parliament, Asaduddin Owasi was present.

    The Karnataka Police opposed the bail application saying that the she was an influential person who may threaten and influence the witnesses and hamper the case of the prosecution and will abscond if released on bail.
