The MoU brings together two non-profit dispute resolution institutions and provides for collaboration in areas including arbitration, mediation, training, and knowledge sharing. It envisages the exchange of knowledge, experience, and resources between the institutions.

Under the framework, AIAC and IAMC will undertake the following initiatives:

• Joint Academic and Professional Training: The institutions will organise conferences, training programmes, and seminars on arbitration, mediation, and other ADR-related subjects. The MoU also contemplates the organisation of a joint conference on an annual basis.

• Use of Facilities and Resources: The institutions may facilitate access to their hearing facilities for matters administered by the other institution. IAMC-administered proceedings in Malaysia may avail themselves of AIAC facilities at agreed rates, while AIAC-administered proceedings in India may similarly access IAMC facilities in Hyderabad.

• Empanelment Recommendations: Both institutions will encourage the cross-empanelment of arbitrators, mediators, and ADR professionals to expand the pool of neutrals available for dispute resolution proceedings.

• Knowledge Exchange: The MoU provides for the exchange of non-confidential information relating to developments in ADR, including jurisprudential trends and legislative updates in India and Malaysia.

According to the institutions, the collaboration is intended to strengthen cooperation between the ADR ecosystems of India and Malaysia and explore opportunities for engagement with international partners in the future.
