    Additional Sessions Judge Amitabh Rawat of Karkardooma Courts, one of the judges dealing with Delhi riots cases including the UAPA larger conspiracy case, has been transferred to Rouse Avenue Courts.

    ASJ Amitabb Rawat has been transferred to the Rouse Avenue Courts as Special CBI Judge (PC Act).

    Rouse Avenue's Special CBI Judge Sameer Bajpai has been transferred to his court.

    The development came after a notification was published today by the Delhi High Court notifying the postings and transfers of judges in the Delhi Higher Judicial Services and Delhi Judicial Services with immediate effect.

    A total of 87 and 120 judges have been transferred/posted in the DHJS and DJS respectively.

    ASJ Amitabh Rawat has been hearing the Delhi riots larger conspiracy case since the beginning in 2020. He is also dealing with other cases concerning the 2020 riots.

    FIR 59 of 2020 is being probed by Delhi Police's Special Cell. The case has been registered under various offences under the Indian Penal Code, 1860 and the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act, 1967.

    The accused in the case are Tahir Hussain, Umar Khalid, Khalid Saifi, Isharat Jahan, Meeran Haider, Gulfisha Fatima, Shifa-Ur-Rehman, Asif Iqbal Tanha, Shadab Ahmed, Tasleem Ahmed, Saleem Malik, Mohd. Saleem Khan, Athar Khan, Safoora Zargar, Sharjeel Imam, Faizan Khan and Natasha Narwal.

    Earlier, ASJ Vinod Yadav who was hearing the Delhi riots cases was also transferred in October 2021.
