    Union Minister of State for Home Affairs Bandi Sanjay Kumar has moved the Hyderabad city civil court seeking take down of allegedly defamatory content about him posted by various media platforms as well as unknown entities (John Doe) linking him with a POCSO case lodged against his son.

    The minister's son Bandi Sai Bageerath has been booked in a POCSO FIR. Bageerath has moved the high court seeking anticipatory bail.

    As per details available on the trial court website, the matter was registered on Friday (May 15).

    The defendants in the suit are social media intermediaries Google LLC, Meta Platforms INC, X Corp; media platforms TV9 Network Pvt Ltd (TV9 Telugu), TV5 News (Shreya Broadcasting Pvt Ltd), ABN Telugu (AndhraJyothi Broadcasting Pvt Ltd), Sakshi TV (Jagati Publications Ltd), NTV Telugu, RTV (RTV), Mahaa News, 10TV News Telugu, Vahini TV, Wise TV, SignalTV Telugu, BIG TV, CVR News Telugu, 99 TV Telugu, Manatolivelugu, Zee Telugu News, Eenadu Television Private Limited (ETV Telangana), Hyderabad Media Private Limited (HMTV Telugu), Signal Tele Services Private Limited (Signal TV Telugu).

    The suit has also sought relief against unknown entities i.e. Ashok Kumar/John Doe.

    Notably, the Telangana government has directed the State's DGP to form special teams for a comprehensive investigation into the case registered against the applicant.
