    It may be noted that the Calcutta High Court has switched to "Microsoft Teams" for hearing extremely urgent matters via video-conferencing and accordingly, all the stakeholders have been advised to download the software/ Application in their laptops or mobile phones.

    Last month, the high court Registrar had issued a notification detailing the listing procedure for extremely urgent matters. Thereby it was intimated that the matters will be heard via Skype.

    Vide a fresh notification issued today, it has been notified that the court will now use Microsoft Teams to conduct hearings and an invitation will be sent on registered email address of the concerned persons for them to join the proceedings.

    "In continuation of the notification no 1506 RG dated 28.03.2020 it is hereby informed that the word "Skype" in the said notification stands replaced by "Microsoft Teams".

    All concerned are advised to kindly download, "Microsoft Teams" in their Laptop or Android Phone or iOS device," the notification states. An invitation will be sent to the person/advocate on record concerned by the administrator managing the respective benches in their email address communicated to the High Court while forwarding their respective petitions/applications," the notification states.

    As per the listing procedure, a litigant is required to send scanned copies of their petitions/ applications through email to the Registry, for urgent mentioning only. Such petitions/ applications will be accompanied by an application stating the extreme urgency for hearing and an undertaking, stating that the deficit court fees will be paid upon restoration of normalcy.

    The matter will then be listed, subject to satisfaction of the presiding judge regarding urgency of the matter.
