Centre Notifies Appointment Of Advocate MK Goyal as Judge Of Rajasthan HC [Read Notification]

His name, along with the name of Advocate Farzand Ali was recommended as such by the Supreme Court Collegium in July this year. However, the Centre's notification is silent as to the appointment of Ali.

The Collegium's recommendation was based on the recommendation made by the High Court Collegium last year.

Apart from Goyal and Ali, the HC Collegium had also proposed the names of advocates Anurag Sharma, Ashvin Garg, Rajeev Purohit, Sachin Acharya, Sanjay Jhanwar, Anita Aggarwal and Manish Shishodia. While elevation of Sisodia was deferred, the Supreme Court Collegium had remitted the remaining names back to the High Court

Goyal's appointment will take effect from the date he assumes charge of his office.
