National Lok Adalat In Chhattisgarh Records Resolution Of Over 55 Lakh Cases

In an effort to champion accessible and swift justice, Justice Ramesh Sinha, Chief Justice, High Court of Chhattisgarh and Patron-in-Chief, Chhattisgarh State Legal Services Authority (CGLSA), conducted a comprehensive virtual inspection and assessment of the year's fourth and final National Lok Adalat proceedings across all 23 districts of the state.Connecting virtually from the High Court, the Chief Justice closely monitored the proceedings and held interactions with all the Principal District and Sessions Judges. He underscored that the National Lok Adalat serves as a crucial platform for litigants to resolve disputes amicably and swiftly, urging all Judicial Officers to strive for the maximum possible resolution of pending cases.In addition to the virtual review, Chief Justice Ramesh Sinha personally visited the High Court premises and interacted with the two Lok Adalat Benches constituted there, presided over by Justice Arvind Kumar Verma and Justice Bibhu Datta Guru. He appreciated their efforts in ensuring the smooth and effective conduct of the Lok Adalat proceedings and in promoting the spirit of consensual dispute resolution.Under the Chief Justice's leadership, meticulous planning was undertaken across the State, including extensive pre-sittings and counselling sessions, to facilitate amicable settlements between parties. These sustained efforts resulted in an record outcome.As per the consolidated data received for the National Lok Adalat held on December 13, 2025, covering the High Court, District and Sessions Courts, Taluka-level Courts, and Revenue Courts throughout Chhattisgarh, a total of 55,27,165 cases were successfully resolved. These included criminal compoundable cases, civil cases, revenue cases, pre-litigation matters, and traffic challan cases. The total award amount passed stood at ₹6,49,35,93,768.Since assuming office, Justice Ramesh Sinha, Chief Justice, High Court of Chhattisgarh has consistently prioritized the delivery of quick, accessible and affordable justice to the people of Chhattisgarh through the Lok Adalat system, with continuous guidance and regular review meetings with Principal District Judges. The Chief Justice extended his sincere appreciation to Justice Sanjay K. Agrawal, Executive Chairman, CGLSA, Justice Parth Prateem Sahu, Chairman, HCLSC, all the Principal District and Sessions Judges, Judges of the Family Court, all presiding officers of the Lok Adalat Benches, advocates, parties and all stakeholders who contributed, directly or indirectly, in ensuring the successful conduct of the National Lok Adalat.
