CNLU Patna LLM Student Committed Suicide Amid Mid-Semester Exams

An LLM student of Chanakya National Law University, Patna (“CNLU”) committed suicide on the afternoon of 24 February 2026 in the Rajendra Prasad Boys Hostel due to personal reasons. The incident occurred while the mid-semester examinations of the 5-year LL.B. were ongoing in the college.

The police and forensic investigation is going on and further details are awaited.

CNLU Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr. Faizan Mustafa held the condolence meeting in the conference hall with students and faculty. He shared his grief and pain in this tough situation with students and deceased's friends. He discussed mental health problems and the need for more talks among students.

Mid semester exam scheduled on 25th February for 4th and 5th year has been shifted to 28th February and 27th February respectively. Whereas mid sem exam scheduled for 1st, 2nd and 3rd year on 25th February has been shifted to 9th March.
