    With the outbreak of the pandemic of coronavirus, the Bombay Bar Association suggested certain precautionary steps to the Bombay High Court through the Acting Chief Justice BP Dharmadhikari and members of the bar.

    BBA has suggested that the High Court administration should-


    1. Provide temperature guns at security checks to check the temperature of entrants to the court premises.

    2. If a person is found to be running a temperature then to take steps for investigation.

    3. Issue directions that the parties shall not attend court unless such attendance is directed by the court.

    4. Issue directions that matters of parties in person will not be dismissed for default.

    5. Issue directions that visit to the court premises be avoided unless it is extremely urgent or directed by the court.

    As for the members of the bar association, BBA has urged lawyers to ask clients not to visit BBA premises unless it is extremely urgent and not to hold meetings in BBA premises. Other basic precautions like wearing a mask, avoiding handshakes etc. have also been suggested.

    The BBA's notice issued today states that the suggestions given to the High Court have already been accepted.
