    In a press release issued by Punjab & Haryana High Court Bar Association, it has been informed that Justice Jitendra Chauhan Of Punjab & Haryana High Court contributed Rs. 1 Lac to the Lawyer's COVID Relief Fund, whereby Rs. 50,000/- financial aid has been given to the Members who suffered hospitalization due to Covid-19 and Rs. 10,000/- has been given on account of Home Isolation.The...

    In a press release issued by Punjab & Haryana High Court Bar Association, it has been informed that Justice Jitendra Chauhan Of Punjab & Haryana High Court contributed Rs. 1 Lac to the Lawyer's COVID Relief Fund, whereby Rs. 50,000/- financial aid has been given to the Members who suffered hospitalization due to Covid-19 and Rs. 10,000/- has been given on account of Home Isolation.

    The Bar Association has also informed that it is running two ambulances for the benefit of the Members of the Bar and this service is provided free of cost.

    The Association has also been running various Vaccination camps for the benefit of the Members of the Bar apart from delivering cooked food to members suffering from the Covid-19.

    Further, Sukhjinder Randhawa, Cabinet Minister, Punjab appreciated the tasks undertaken by the Punjab and Haryana High Court Bar Association for the welfare of its Members and he contributed Rs. 10 Lacs for undertaking development activities.

    Also, Manpreet Singh Badal, Finance Minister, Punjab joined through teleconferencing with the Executive Committee and he announced Rs. 50 Lac for the social security initiatives of Punjab and Hariyana High Court Bar Association and contributed this amount to the Lawyers Welfare Fund.

    In view of the Surge in COVID Cases, the Bar Council of Punjab and Haryana in its emergent meeting held on April 30 decided to take some steps with regard to the functioning of the Courts and safety of Advocates in Punjab, Haryana & Chandigarh.
    The Council has resolved to impress upon the respective governments of Punjab, Haryana, and U.T. Chandigarh to allocate Rs. 100 Crores to Bar Council of Punjab and Haryana, to provide financial help to the needy Advocates.
