Five Lawyers Appointed As Judges Of Karnataka HC And Calcutta HC [Read Notifications]

Advocates Singapuram Raghavachar Krishna Kumar, Ashok Subhashchandra Kinagi, Govindaraj Suraj and Sachin Shankar Magadum have been appointed as Additional Judges of Karnataka High Court.

Advocate Kausik Chanda has been appointed as Additional Judge of the Calcutta High Court.

The appointment is for two years with effect from the date they assume charge as Judges of respective High Courts. The Notification in this regard has been issued today.

In March, this year, The Supreme Court Collegium had recommended for elevation as Judges to Karnataka High Court the names of these lawyers along with that of Advocates Savanur Vishwajith Shetty Maralur Indrakumar Arun, Mohammed Ghouse Shukure Kamal, and Engalaguppe Seetharamaiah Indiresh. Recommendation to elevate Advocate Kausik Chanda was made in July.
