    Physical Filing Counters will re-open on 15th December; E-filing portal will continue to function

    The Gujarat High Court will remain closed for three days, starting December 12, 2020 till December 14, 2020, to enable proper sanitization of its premises.     The Gujarat High Court will remain closed for three days, starting December 12, 2020 till December 14, 2020, to enable proper sanitization of its premises.

    As per a Circular issued upon directions of Chief Justice Vikram Nath, the Judicial and Administrative functioning of the High Court will remain suspended during the above period. Advocate General, Government Pleader and Public Prosecutor have also been requested to completely shut down their offices as aforesaid.

    Last week, a sitting judge of the Gujarat High Court, Justice GR Udhwani, had succumbed to COVID19.

    Physical Filing Counters will also be closed during the above period and will re-open on 15th December (although e-Filing portal will continue to function). Processing of freshly filed matters will resumed on 15th December.

    The adjourned matters for 14th December will be notified before the respective Courts on 15hth December along with adjourned matters for that day, and the Cause List for the same will be published on Thursday, i.e. 10th December, 2020.

    Other details:

    • Cleaning and sanitization of entire premises of the High Court, Judicial Academy, Auditorium, Kayda Bhavan Building, Bank, Post Office, etc. including inside of the buildings such as Court Rooms, Chambers, Offices, Record Rooms, Wash Rooms, etc. shall be done.
    • Other Government offices, SBI, Post Office situated within the High Court campus will also be sanitized.
    • ACS, Home and the Director General of Police have been instructed to ensure that the security staff deputed should stay at one place and should not allow to move around. Whoever is posted at the High Court for security purpose, must stay there only.
