A Gurugram court on Wednesday remanded Kalyan Bainsla, the driver accused of hitting a woman biker in Gurugram, to police custody for two days.

The accused was produced before Judicial Magistrate Ist Class (JMIC) Nidhi Beniwal.

A suo moto case was registered by the Sector 55/56 Police Station under Sections 109 (attempt to murder), 281 (rash driving) and 125 (act endangering life or personal safety of others) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS). In the application moved before the magistrate today, the police also mentioned Section 78 (stalking) and 79 (word, gesture or act intended to insult the modesty of a woman) of the BNS.

The case came to light after the victim, Shivani Chauhan's video went viral on social media.

The video shot by mounted camera shows that a vehicle allegedly driven by Bainsla, a gym owner, speeded towards her and hit her bike on the Golf Course Road.

The victim was seen falling from her bike after the collision. She has accused Bainsla, referred to as Kalyan Singh in the court records, of harassing her before hitting her bike and fleeing the spot after causing the accident.
