New Delhi, 21 September 2026: Valedictory Session graced by the President of India, Smt. Droupadi Murmu, as the Chief Guest, the International Conference on “The Future of Environment and Climate Dynamics” at Vigyan Bhawan, New Delhi, organised by the National Green Tribunal (NGT). The program witness the presence of Shri Manohar Lal, Minister for Housing and Urban Affairs & Minister of Power, Smt. Justice B.V. Nagarathna, Judge, Supreme Court of India, Mr. Tushar Mehta, Solicitor General of India and Mr. Justice Prakash Shrivastava, Chairperson, National Green Tribunal.

President of India, Smt. Droupadi Murmu , appreciated the National Green Tribunal for bringing together experts, judges, jurists and key stakeholders from different countries who are actively engaged in addressing environmental issues.

The President expressed confidence that the deliberations and action plans emerging from the Conference would contribute significantly towards building climate-resilient societies, supported by inclusive policies effective institutional mechanisms and coordinated action.

The Conference provides an important platform for national and international experts, judicial authorities, environmental practitioners and other stakeholders to exchange knowledge, share experiences and deliberate on emerging environmental and climate challenges.

The discussions are aimed at strengthening international cooperation and promoting effective, inclusive and sustainable approaches towards environmental protection and climate resilience.

The Conference is envisaged as a distinguished global platform for dialogue, deliberation and the exchange of judicial, scientific, policy and institutional best practices on some of the most pressing environmental and climate challenges confronting the world today.

The International Conference has brought together eminent jurists, policymakers, environmental experts, scientists, academicians and other stakeholder from 17 countries, including the United States of America, Poland, the United Kingdom, Thailand, Sri Lanka, South Africa, Russia, Nepal, Myanmar, Maldives, Malaysia, Chile, Brazil, Bangladesh, Australia, Armenia and Algeria.

The two day programme is aimed at facilitating meaningful dialogue and exchange of knowledge expertise and best practices among experts and institutions. The conference also seek to reinforce the importance of cooperative among the judiciary, government, scientific community, academia and other stakeholders in addressing environmental challenges and ensuring that the principles of sustainable development and environmental justice remain central to policymaking and implementation The participation of judicial representatives from diverse jurisdictions will provide an important opportunity for the exchange of experiences and perspectives on environmental adjudication, climate governance and the evolving principles of environmental justice.
