Jharkhand's Palashbani Panchayat Hosts Legal Services And Empowerment Camp; Distributes Assets Worth 15.9 Crores Amongst 11,227 Beneficiaries

A state-level legal services cum empowerment camp, aimed at reaching out to the vulnerable sections of society, particularly primitive tribes, was successfully organized in Palashbani Panchayat of Jamshedpur Sadar Block on February 24, 2024 by Jharkhand State Legal Services Authority (JHALSA).The initiative, conducted under the auspices of the District Legal Services Authority (DLSA), Jamshedpur, and the District Administration, East Singhbhum, witnessed the presence of esteemed dignitaries including JHALSA Executive Chairman Justice Sujit Narayan Prasad and High Court Justice Sanjay Kumar Dwivedi.The event commenced with a vibrant Chhau dance performance by artists representing primitive tribes, followed by a warm welcome extended to the guests with traditional gestures including floral bouquets, shawls, and mementos. The ceremony commenced with the lighting of the lamp and an inaugural speech delivered by Principal District and Sessions Judge Anil Kumar Mishra.Addressing the gathering, Justice Sujit Narayan Prasad emphasized the significance of such mega camps in ensuring the inclusion of marginalized communities into the developmental fold. He urged the primitive tribes to engage with government schemes, become aware citizens, and harness their entitlements for socio-economic progress. Highlighting the objectives of NALSA, he underscored the importance of resolving legal disputes expeditiously and facilitating access to government welfare schemes for the underprivileged.Justice Sanjay Kumar Dwivedi reiterated the importance of legal awareness and rights among rural populations, emphasizing the transformative potential of such initiatives. Deputy Development Commissioner Manish Kumar Sinha provided insights into various governmental schemes tailored for primitive tribes and weaker sections, elucidating their eligibility criteria and benefits.The event witnessed enthusiastic participation from over 12,000 individuals, with more than 11,000 beneficiaries availing themselves of benefits totaling 15.9 crores. Various government departments, including Education, Health, Agriculture, Fisheries, and Social Welfare, set up informative stalls to disseminate information and facilitate scheme enrollment. The concerted efforts aimed to bridge the gap between entitlements and beneficiaries, ensuring that the most vulnerable segments of society receive their due share of support and opportunities.
