Centre Notifies Appointment Of Justice T. Amarnath Goud As Acting Chief Justice Of Tripura High Court

A notification released by the Department of Justice of the Ministry of Law and Justice, Government of India, said:

"In exercise of the power conferred by Article 223 of the Constitution of India, the President is pleased to appoint Shri Justice Todupunuri Amarnath Goud, senior-most Judge of the Tripura High Court, to perform the duties of the office of Chief Justice of that High Court, with effect from 11.11.2022, consequent upon the retirement of Shri Justice Indrajit Mahanty, Chief Justice, Tripura High Court."

About Justice Goud:

Justice T. Amarnath Goud enrolled as an advocate in September 1990 in the Bar Council of Andhra Pradesh, where he actively practiced in civil, criminal, constitutional and all other branches of law. He was elevated as a Judge of High Court of Judicature at Hyderabad for the State of Telangana and the State of Andhra Pradesh on 21.09.2017. During his tenure of four years at the Telangana High Court, Justice Goud disposed of 87,957 cases.

Justice Goud took oath as a Judge of the High Court of Tripura on 28.10.2021 and is currently the senior-most Judge of the High Court.
