The Vidhi Centre for Legal Policy and JALDI (Justice, Access & Lowering Delays in India) will launch the report titled 'Judicial Transparency Index: Assessing Disclosure of Information by the Supreme Court and the High Courts' on August 1, 2026, at the India International Centre (IIC), New Delhi. The event will bring together judges, senior advocates and legal researchers to deliberate on transparency and openness in the Indian judiciary.

Justice Ujjal Bhuyan, Judge of the Supreme Court of India, will deliver the keynote address. The programme will begin with a welcome address by Dr. Arghya Sengupta, Founder and Research Director of the Vidhi Centre for Legal Policy, followed by the launch of the report and a presentation of its key findings by Abhishek Rath and Navami Krishnamurthy, Research Fellows at JALDI. The report is described as India's first comprehensive analysis of judicial openness using 68 indicators.

The event will also feature a panel discussion titled "From Principle to Practice: Understanding Openness in the Indian Judiciary."Senior Advocates Dr. Aditya Sondhi and Saurabh Kirpal will participate in the discussion, which will be moderated by Jyotika Randhawa, Senior Resident Fellow at JALDI.

The report launch is scheduled to take place from 11:00 AM to 2:00 PM at the India International Centre, New Delhi.
