High Court Launches Online Complaint System 'SheBox', Accessibility Initiatives To Mark Kerala Piravi Day

On the occasion of Kerala Piravi Day and the 70th anniversary of the establishment of the Kerala High Court, the high court's IT directorate has launched a series of major initiatives with an aim to make justice more accessible to all.Chief Justice Nitin Jamdar launched a Legal Glossary containing around 6,375 legal terms prepared by the High Court with the objective of bringing about more clarity, and uniformity in the use of legal terminology in Malayalam.In his speech, the Chief Justice remarked that the High Court had took up the task of translating into Malayalam certain crucial judgments of the High Court and the Supreme Court with the intention to make judicial pronouncements accessible to all. He noted that the Glossary would be instrumental in this process.The event also marked the release of 'SheBox', an Online Complaint Management System, developed exclusively by the women developers of the IT Directorate, that provides a platform for the female staff of the High Court to register complaints related to sexual harassment at the workplace.The Chief Justice also declared the completion of e-Office implementation in the State and the Union Territory of Lakshadweep. The e-Office system, which facilitates paperless file processing and eliminating physical copies have been implemented in the High Court as well as all the courts in the district judiciary and associated judicial units.Another significant milestone is the introduction of Adalat.AI voice-to-text platform, which would be used by all the judicial officers in the trial courts to electronically record witness statements, which would then be uploaded to the District Court Case Management System (DCMS). This process would reduce delays, increase transparency and enable accessibility to all stakeholders.Justice A. Muhamed Mustaque, who is also the Chairman of the Computerization Committee, extended felicitations at the event. Gopakumar G., Registrar General of the High Court, gave the welcome address and Mini S. Das, Registrar (Vigilance), proposed the vote of thanks.
