Court Staff Injured In Attempted Attack On Kerala Munsiff-Magistrate

On Wednesday (June 3), a man reportedly attempted to attack the Munsiff-Magistrate in a Kerala court in her chambers.

The incident reportedly happened at around 10 am in the chamber of Smt. Amala Lawrence, the judicial officer of the Munsiff Court, Chengannur.

According to reports, the attacker was wearing a helmet and raincoat, and was also carrying a piece of glass. It is further reported that the Munsiff, upon seeing the attacker, ran inside the offices of the court staff and got injured while running away from him.

Two of the court staff obstructed the attacker but were injured, reports say; the attacker stamped on the chest of one of the staff.

While fleeing from the scene, the attacker was overpowered by the court staff and nearby autorickshaw drivers. As per reports, he was then handed over to the police.
