[Live Updates] MJ Akbar's Defamation Case Against Journalist Priya Ramani

Wahab says that after she tweeted about her incident, a lot of other journalists, including Ramani, tweeted about their stories.

She also received a text from her friend who asked her whether she would be sharing her Akbar story 

Wahab tells the court that she was encouraged by the #MeToo movement to share her story against @mjakbar 

Akbar called Wahab on her phone address, he was furious. She was scared that he'll might turn up at her home. So, she left the city and went to Agra. She did not tell her parents about that happened

She had then decided to quit her job, come what may. She started clearing her desk for next 2 weeks under a pretext of moving to Ahmedabad. On the day of leaving, she stayed at home and tenderered her resignation

2nd week of December, Akbar told Wahab that he wanted her to shift to the new office in Ahmedabad as a Features Editor. He said that she'll be given an apartment there, and whenever he would come to Ahmedabad he would stay with her

She asked her friend to accompany her to his room, with some pretext or the other, as a tactic to avoid his advances.

Wahab tells that sometimes Akbar would shut the door, press his body against her and try to kiss her. Whenever this happened, she pushed him away.

She says that it was difficult to find a new job. Her financial situation did not allow her to quit without finding a new job. But, Akbar did not change. He kept on calling her to his office. She employed various tactics to keep his away

She also told Akbar to not to repeat such behaviour. Akbar asked her to meet him, she went thinking he would apologise. Instead, he lectured her about his genuine emotions towards her. That day, she realised she needs to quit Asian Age

Wahab says her entire professional life flashed in front of her eyes. She says she realised she's on her own. She sent a message to Akbar telling him that I held him on high regard as an author but his unwelcomed sexual advances were unacceptable
