Madras High Court To Hear Cases In Physical Mode From 3rd January, 2022, Virtual Mode Of Hearing Suspended

The notification states that all virtual hearings on video conferencing platforms will remain suspended from 3^rd January 2022, i.e, Monday onwards. The mandatory physical mode will be applicable both to the Principal seat at Madras and the Madurai Bench from 3^rd January.

The 9th November notification had allowed the hearing of cases in hybrid mode/ virtual mode/ physical mode. Apart from this modification, the other directions issued in the 9^th November notification will prevail.

On 9^th November, the court had permitted the entry of advocates and clerks through all the gates, subject to covid protocol norms and security measures.

According to the earlier notification, for litigants, parties appearing in persons and others, the existing restrictions will remain in force unless the presence of a person has been specifically required by the court.

Bar Associations and Association Libraries was allowed to open for the use of advocates in adherence to Covid protocol norms. Canteens in High Court were also allowed to function from 11 am to 3 pm adhering to Covid protocol.
