    Two senior judicial officers were sworn-in as Judges of the Orissa High Court this afternoon after their warrants of appointment were issued by the President of India yesterday.

    Justice Gourishankar Satapathy, who was the 9th senior-most judicial officer of the State, joined the Odisha Superior Judicial Service in the year 2011. He held various positions in the cadre of District Judge during the last ten years and lastly, he was holding the post of Director, Odisha Judicial Academy before being elevated to the High Court.

    Justice Chittaranjan Dash, who was the 15th senior-most judicial officer of the State, joined the Odisha Superior Judicial Service in the year 2013 and served in multiple positions. He was the Registrar General of the Orissa High Court when his name was recommended for elevation.

    Their names were cleared by the Supreme Court Collegium last month. Upon their joining, the strength of judges rises to 23 in the High Court.
