The Oudh Bar Association (Allahabad High Court, Lucknow Bench) has appealed to advocates, junior advocates, advocate clerks and law interns to refrain from making reels or similar videos on the High Court premises and uploading them on social media.

In an appeal issued on September 2, the Association said that some young advocates, advocate clerks and law interns have been coming to the court premises and making reels, which are subsequently uploaded on social media.

The Association said it had received information that someone had recently made a reel while wearing an advocate's attire in the rain on the court premises and had uploaded it to social media.

Describing such conduct as a matter of concern, the Association said: "उनका यह कृत्य माननीय उच्च न्यायालय एवं अवध बार एसोसिएशन की गरिमा को धूमिल कर रहा है।" [Their act is tarnishing the dignity of the Hon'ble High Court and the Oudh Bar Association]

The Association has therefore requested all advocates to ensure that junior advocates, advocate clerks and law interns working under them do not make reels or engage in any such activity on the court premises which could affect the dignity of the premises or the advocate community.

It has also separately appealed to all junior advocates, advocate clerks and law interns not to make reels on the premises and to maintain the dignity of the High Court and the Oudh Bar Association. The appeal was issued by Lalit Kishore Tiwari, General Secretary of the Oudh Bar Association, High Court, Lucknow.

The notice does not specify any disciplinary action or penalty against persons making such reels. It is framed as an appeal to members of the Bar and those working with them to refrain from such conduct.
