The Patna High Court has disposed of more than 17,000 cases in a month under the guidance of Acting Chief Justice Sudhir Singh, reflecting a significant increase in the pace of judicial disposal.
Justice Singh took over the charge as the Acting Chief Justice on July 12.
According to the data, between July 13 and August 18, 2026, about 17,213 cases were disposed of. The data also showed that during this period, about 15,433 cases were instituted. This shows that more cases were disposed of than were instituted, contributing to a reduction in the overall pending caseload.
Thus, the case clearance rate of the High Court is currently at 111.53%. The CCR rate is calculated by expressing the total number of cases disposed of as a percentage of the total number of cases instituted during a given period.
