The third National Lok Adalat of 2026 was held across Rajasthan on October 10, following a gap of approximately five months, with four benches constituted at each of the Rajasthan High Court's Jaipur and Jodhpur Benches.

The Rajasthan State Legal Services Authority (RSLSA), under the aegis of the National Legal Services Authority (NALSA) and the Rajasthan High Court, organised the third National Lok Adalat of 2026 across the State on October 10, disposing of 67,20,971 pre-litigation and pending cases.

The exercise was conducted under the guidance of Chief Justice Sanjay K. Agrawal, Patron-in-Chief of RSLSA, and Justice Vineet Kumar Mathur, Executive Chairman of RSLSA.

According to figures released by RSLSA, a total of 8,60,986 pending cases were disposed of by the High Court and district courts, with awards involving ₹25,76,92,27,900.

At the Rajasthan High Court, 205 cases were settled at the Jodhpur Bench and 408 cases at the Jaipur Bench. Four benches were constituted at each of the two High Court seats to facilitate the settlement of cases.

The National Lok Adalat commenced with simultaneous inaugural programmes at the Jaipur and Jodhpur Benches of the Rajasthan High Court.

The inaugural programme at Jodhpur was attended by Chief Justice Sanjay K. Agrawal, Justice Vineet Kumar Mathur and other judges of the Rajasthan High Court, including Justice Arun Monga, Chairman of the Rajasthan High Court Legal Services Committee, Jodhpur.

At Jaipur, the inaugural programme was presided over by Justice Mahendra Kumar Goyal, Judge In-Charge of Mediation, along with other judges of the High Court.

Addressing the gathering, Chief Justice Agrawal observed that Lok Adalats are not merely a mechanism for dispute resolution but a meaningful and humane effort to ensure that justice reaches ordinary citizens, bringing them relief, satisfaction and renewed confidence.

The National Lok Adalat assumed particular significance as the first such exercise held during Chief Justice Agrawal's tenure following his assumption of office.

The exercise was organised after an interval of approximately five months, with the previous National Lok Adalat having been held on May 9, 2026. The present Lok Adalat was initially scheduled for September 11 but was postponed in view of the local body elections and subsequently rescheduled for October 10.

The State-wide exercise extended beyond pending court cases to pre-litigation disputes, including matters relating to banking, financial transactions, insurance and other services.
