In view of the surge in increasing covid 19 cases, the Telangana High Court on Thursday modified its earlier SOP by deciding that all the benches will hear the cases virtually with immediate effect instead of continuing with hybrid mode of hearings.

The said procedure will be followed on rotational basis by the division as well as the single benches of the High Court.

The notification dated 15.04.2021 issued by the Registrar General of the Telangana High Court reads thus:

"Considering the current pandemic situation of covid-19, in partial modification of the SOP in the reference 1st cited, and in super session of the Notification in the reference 2nd cited, the High Court has decided to conduct the hearing of cases by all the Benches virtually with immediate effect, instead of continuing the present practice of physical as well as virtual hearing of the cases in the High Court on rotation basis by the Division Benches and Single Benches."

The High Court had in February decided to resume physical hearings along with virtual hearing on a rotation basis.

The said decision was taken keeping in view of the then situation of considerable decline in Corona cases, latest guidelines of Government of India and the State Government relaxing the COVID-19 restrictions and after due deliberations with all the stakeholders including the High Court Advocates Association.
