    The Supreme Court Collegium has recommended elevation of five Advocates as Judges in the High Courts of Madhya Pradesh, Punjab and Haryana, and Jammu and Kashmir. The Collegium proposed: Advocates Dr. Vivek Sharan, Nidhi Patankar and Pranay Verma be appointed as Judges at the Madhya Pradesh High Court.Advocate Vikas Bahl be appointed as a Judge of the Punjab and Haryana...

    The Supreme Court Collegium has recommended elevation of five Advocates as Judges in the High Courts of Madhya Pradesh, Punjab and Haryana, and Jammu and Kashmir.

    The Collegium proposed:

    • Advocates Dr. Vivek Sharan, Nidhi Patankar and Pranay Verma be appointed as Judges at the Madhya Pradesh High Court.
    • Advocate Vikas Bahl be appointed as a Judge of the Punjab and Haryana High Court.
    • Advocate Rahul Bharti be appointed as a Judge of the Jammu and Kashmir High Court.

    Further, the Collegium reiterated its recommendation for elevation of:

    • Advocate Nagendra Ramachandra Naik as a Judge of the Karnataka High Court.
    • Advocates Viju Abraham, CP Muhammed Nias and Paul KK as Judges of Kerala High Court.
    • Advocate Satyen Vaidya as a Judge of the Himachal Pradesh High Court.

    The Supreme Court Collegium had first recommended elevation of Advocate Nagendra Ramachandra Naik as a Judge of the Karnataka High Court in October 2019.

    Recommendation to elevate Advocate Satyen Vaidya was made in April 2019.
