A Court in Hyderabad returned the complaint against Congress leader Meenakshi Natarajan, which led to the rejection of her Rajya Sabha candidature.

As per a report of the New Indian Express, the IV Additional Chief Metropolitan Magistrate, Nampally, returned the complaint on the ground of jurisidiction, since the persons arrayed in the complaint as accused are former or present public representatives.

It may be noted that Meenakshi Natarajan's nomination for Rajya Sabha election was rejected by the Returning Officer on the ground that this complaint was not disclosed in her affidavit.

The Supreme Court today dismissed her petition challenging the Returning Officer's decision, sayingt that the proper remedy is to file an election petition.

The complaint is filed by a woman alleging sexual harassment by Kumbham Shiva Kumar Reddy. Natarajan is named as an accused on the allegation that she did not take action on the sexual assault complaint in her capacity as the AICC in-charge for Telangana.
