Training And Sensitization Program For Para Legal Volunteers Organised By Bihar State Legal Services Authority

The Bihar State Legal Services Authority (BSLSA) organised a comprehensive One Day Training cum Sensitization program on November 25, 2023, aimed at empowering Para Legal Volunteers stationed at the Front Offices of District Legal Services Authorities (DiLSAs) and State District Legal Services Committees (SDLSC) across Bihar.The focus of the program was to enhance the skills and awareness of Para Legal Volunteers, acknowledging their pivotal role as frontline workers in Legal Services Institutions.The training covered a range of essential topics, fostering a deeper understanding of the legal framework and guidelines governing their roles. The key areas of discussion included:1. NALSA Front Office Guidelines: Participants delved into the guidelines provided by the National Legal Services Authority (NALSA), shedding light on the best practices for effective functioning at the front offices.2. Legal Services Authorities Act, 1987: A detailed exploration of the Legal Services Authorities Act, 1987, was conducted, emphasising the legal foundations that govern the functioning of Legal Services Institutions.3. Bihar State Legal Services Authority Regulations, 1998: The program included an in-depth review of the regulations specific to Bihar State Legal Services Authority, providing volunteers with a localised perspective on their responsibilities.4. NALSA Schemes: The training elucidated the various schemes initiated by the National Legal Services Authority, offering volunteers insights into the broader framework of legal support services available to citizens.5. BSLSA Scheme for Integration of Transgender-person And their Rehabilitation and Providing Access to Justice, 2023 (SITARA): A dedicated session was conducted to familiarise volunteers with the Bihar State Legal Services Authority's Scheme for Integration of Transgender-person. This aimed at sensitising volunteers to the unique challenges faced by the transgender community and their rehabilitation needs.The program underscored the critical role played by Para Legal Volunteers in ensuring accessible legal services to the public. By enhancing their knowledge on these crucial topics, the Bihar State Legal Services Authority aims to strengthen the efficacy of Legal Services Institutions in Bihar.
