Woman Attacks Lady Judge, Prosecutor & Inspector With Iron Rod In Odisha's Court Premises

In a shocking development, a woman litigant on Saturday (November 07) brutally attacked a lady Magistrate, an Assistant Public Prosecutor (APP) and a Court Sub-Inspector (CSI) with an iron rod inside the Court premises of the Judicial Magistrate First Class (JMFC), Jharigaon under Odisha's Nabarangpur judgeship.
A tribal woman namely Sanamati Majhi allegedly arrived inside the Court premises of the JMFC, Jharigaon with an iron rod concealed in a bag while the Court was in session. She reportedly went to APP Pradeep Patnaik, and suddenly assaulted him on his head, causing bleeding injury.
Ms. Smita Lakra, JMFC is said to have intervened in the scuffle to restrain the woman from causing further assault. During such intervention, the woman allegedly assaulted the lady Magistrate, causing minor injury. Hearing the commotion, the CSI came out of his office and tried to pacify the woman. However, she struck his head with the rod, causing bleeding injury.
The Magistrate, along with the APP and CSI, were given immediate medical attention and they have since been discharged. The intention and cause behind the attack are yet not clear.
