The Supreme Court Bar Association (SCBA) has issued an urgent alert after several advocates reported that their WhatsApp accounts and mobile numbers were hacked and used by fraudsters to seek money from other members.

In a circular dated January 28, 2026, the Supreme Court Bar Association said it has received information about at least four members whose accounts have been compromised, with more complaints continuing to come in.

The SCBA specifically informed members that the mobile numbers of Senior Advocate Parthiv Goswami and Advocate Pragya Singh Parijat were hacked, and fraudulent messages were sent in their names demanding money.

Members have been strictly advised not to transfer any funds or respond to such messages, and to verify any monetary request by directly speaking to the concerned person.

The alert has been issued in the interest of protecting members from financial fraud and ensuring vigilance against cybercrime targeting advocates.
