Saying that the NCB case against Aryan Khan, son of Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan, is out of "dirty vendetta", a Shiv Sena leader has sent a letter petition to the Supreme Court seeking its suo motu intervention.

The petition sent by Shiv Sena leader Kishor Tiwari alleges that Khan is a victim of vendetta by an officer of the Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) whose wife failed to make it in the film industry. According to him, the NCB officer is targeting film celebrities with "malafide style, approach & dirty vendetta" for past few years.

"I am most respectfully submitting the present petition with the humble request to Your Honour to take suo moto cognizance as the law enforcement agencies – NCB under NDPS Act is abusing position and trying to deprive the basic Human Rights of the person accused under NDPS Act and by misconstruing the provisions of the law, the poor, innocent people are being put behind the bars. It is most painful that the Special Court has surprisingly postponed the final disposal of bail application and accused has been subjected to big humiliation and kept in jail in a most undemocratic & illegal way", the petition states.

Tiwari urges the Supreme Court to order a judicial enquiry into the acts of NCB officer who is allegedly targeting film personalities and to protect the fundamental rights of Aryan Khan.

"...the malafide, autocratic, style, approach & dirty vendetta affairs of NCB officer at Mumbai, targeting select film celebrity & few models since last two years is also a matter of big concern given a fact that officer's wife at Mumbai is also a film celebrity having direct competition with the models & film celebrities against whom her husband NCB official is taking action under NDPS Act . In light of above, I would like to request your honour to institute special judicial investigation & enquiry to unearth role of NCB official whose wife is said to be instrumental in crafting cases against competitor film celebrity", the petition states.

Referring to the allegations levelled by Maharashtra Minister Nawab Malik against NCB, Tiwari states  "it's high time the NCB Mumbai & all-India must be PROBED by a SC judge to unravel the rackets and the TRUTH". The petition states that the alleged NCB seizures are minuscule.

Khan was arrested by the NCB on October 3 and has been under custody ever since in the drugs-on-cruise case. While no recovery of contraband was made from Khan and no evidence of consumption by him was found, the NCB has alleged that his WhatsApp chats showed linkages with international drug dealers, and opposed his bail application stating that his custody was required to probe the larger conspiracy. A Mumbai Court on October 14 reserved order on the bail applications of Khan and two other accused and the order is likely to be pronounced tomorrow.
