CJI Ramana Sends Heart-Warming Reply To Schoolgirl Who Lauded Supreme Court Interventions In COVID Situation

A 5-th standard school girl from Kerala wrote a letter to the Chief Justice of India thanking the Supreme Court for its orders passed to address the COVID situation.Ten year old Lidwina Joseph, studying in 5th standard at Kendriya Vidyalaya, Thrissur, sent a hand-written letter in a beautiful scroll saying that she was "happy and proud" that the Supreme Court orders for oxygen supply have saved lives and have brought down the rate of COVID-19 and death rate in the country, especially in Delhi.She also enclosed a colour illustration showing a judge giving coronavirus a smash with the gavel. The Tricolour, Lion Capital and a portrait of the father of the nation completed the drawing.The full text of her letter is :"' I am Lidwina Joseph, studying in the 5th standard of Kendriya Vidyalaya, Thrissur. I read the main news of India from the newspaper The Hindu. I was much worried about the deaths at Delhi and other parts of country due to Corona. From the newspaper I understood that your honourable court have intervened effectively at the sufferings and death of ordinary people in fight against Covid-19. I am happy and feel proud your honourable court have moved orders for supply of oxygen and saved many lives. I understood your honourable court have initiated effective steps in bringing down Covid-19 and death rate in our country especially in Delhi. I thank you your Honour for this. Now I feel very proud and happy".Impressed with the letter, the CJI send a heartwarming reply to the girl"My dear Lidwina,I have received your beautiful letter along with a heart-warming illustration of the Judge at work.I am really impressed with the way you kept track of happenings in the country and the concern that you have displayed for the well being of people in the wake of pandemic.I am sure you will grow-up into an alert, informed and responsible citizen who will contribute immensely towards the nation building.With best wishes and blessings for your all-round success" Chief Justice Ramana also sent her a signed copy of the Constitution.
