    The Chief Justice of the Delhi High Court Justice DN Patel yesterday held a five hour long meeting meeting with the seven senior-most Judges of the High Court to deliberate on the  clash between advocates and Delhi police which took place in Tis Hazari court premises on Saturday.

    The meeting which got over around 9.40 PM was attended by the Joint Commissioner of Police, New Delhi, the Deputy Commissioner of Police and Delhi Additional Chief Secretary, Delhi Government.

    The Chief Justice has reportedly taken a serious view of the matter and expressed concerns at the safety of lawyers and litigants. The Delhi police officials told in the meeting that FIR has been registered and investigation was underway.

    Three judges of the Delhi High Court - Justices G S Sistani, S Muralidhar and Vipin Sanghi - visited on Saturday evening the lawyers undergoing treatment at St Stephens hospital after they sustained injuries in the scuffle yesterday.

    Mr Vijay Varma who has received Bullet injury in the right hand side of the chest was reported to be in stable health condition and talked to the judges.

    Bar Council as well as Supreme Court Bar Association have assured to bear all expenses for the treatment of the lawyers.

    The Delhi High Court Bar Association (DHCBA) has requested its members to register protest by abstaining from work on Monday, November 4.

    The scuffle broke out yesterday afternoon reportedly over a parking dispute within the court premises.

    It is reported that the situation intensified as an incident firing led to two lawyers being injured. In a press release issued today, the Bar Council of India has condemned the Delhi police for brutally firing at lawyers in Tis Hazari Court, on the issue of car parking.
