[LIVE UPDATES] Gujarat Riots Case In SC : 'SIT Did No Investigation' , Sibal Argues Zakia Jafri's Plea Against Clean Chit To Narendra Modi

Sibal : We say that the conspiracy was hatched by Acharya Giriraj Kishore of VHP, who was escorted by police to Sola Civil Hospital. Can your lordships imagine? A VHP functionary being escorted by police!

Sibal : Article 21 says you have to protect people by procedure by law. If you violate that, you are an accused. The SIT has to explain why they did not do any of these things. The only recourse to us was the protest petition.

Sibal : Was the SIT trying to protect the accused?. It was set up by your lordships. It had to gather evidence, record statements, and then come to a prima facie conclusion.

Sibal : PC Pandey ought to have been summoned and examined. What was the SIT doing?

Sibal : At 3 in the morning about 3000 RSS workers had gathered..who gave messages to these RSS workers? If you investigate the call records, you can find out.

Sibal : . Then, preparation of violence after Godhra. What speeches were made, who made speeches - had to be investigated. I have a seperate volume which tells what these speeches were.

Sibal : Can you ever imagine Mamlatdar take this decision to give bodies to VHP when a national tragedy has happened? Impossible!

Sibal : You catch hold of a Mamlatdar, a low level officer and initiate enquiry against him, to reach nowhere!

Sibal says there are statements of the DGP Chakravarthi to the effect that the decision to hand over the bodies was taken by the government. Now there is an attempt to say that the decision was taken by mamlatdar. Can a mamlatdar decide to give bodies to VHP?

Sibal : The citizen's tribunal of Justice VR Krishna Iyer and PB Sawant took note of these aspects.
