    The Supreme Court will pronounce judgment in the hijab case TODAY

    A bench comprising Justices Hemant Gupta and Sudhanshu Dhulia will pronounce verdict on a batch of appeals filed against the judgment of the Karnataka High Court which held that hijab was not an essential practice of Islam and allowed the ban on wearing headscarf in educational institutions in the State.

    The bench had reserved judgment in the case on September 22 after a hearing the matter for 10 days.

    Case Title: Aishat Shifa versus State of Karnataka SLP(c) 5236/2022 and connected cases.
