Educator and YouTuber Faisal Khan, popularly known as Khan Sir, has approached the Patna High Court seeking quashing of the FIR registered against him by the Patna Police in connection with the recent violence at his coaching institute.

Khan Sir has also sought directions for reopening his coaching institute, which has remained shut following the incident.

The matter came up before the High Court on Wednesday. After hearing the submissions, the Court granted four weeks' time to the Bihar Government to file its response to the plea.

The case relates to an incident on June 2 when a group of 15-20 persons allegedly vandalised the premises of Khan Global Studies (KGS) in Patna and pelted stones at the coaching institute run by Khan Sir.

A day later, police detained two security guards associated with the institute after a purported video surfaced on social media allegedly showing them firing shots during the incident. According to the police, the weapons allegedly used in the firing were seized and sent for forensic examination. An FIR was subsequently registered at Kadamkuan police station, and the two guards are presently in judicial custody. The police said the guards allegedly said that Khan and others had instructed them to open fire on the crowd.

Yesterday, a Sessions Court in Patna had granted interim anticipatory bail to Khan Sir in connection with the FIR.
